Never a disappointment

I am always amazed when eating in The Unicorn that the place is packed no matter what day of the week.
I attribute this mainly to the excellent food it offers and to the fact that the place is always buzzing. The food is the best Italian I’ve had in Dublin.
While catering mostly to a business crowd both for lunch and dinner, it’s a popular spot for families and casual dinners also.

Having visited Unicorn on Sat night last (Feb 2nd), I have to say it was “very disappointing”.. We arrived early, but had to wait 45 minutes after our appointed time to get a table... after that it was another hour before we got our starter... and ANOTHER HOUR before we got our main course.... I lost my patience... ordered the bill for what was very average food, totally over-priced (very nice staff though), but left... and will never return.... It’s over-rated BIG-TIME... It’s very noisy... gives preference of table assignment to “friends/regulars”... ignoring reservations... avoids eye-contact with guests to escape the embarrassment... food is “very” average... and totally over-priced...

we had been trying to book the unicorn on a mumber of ocassions and it had been booked up so we were delighted to get a reservation for my work colleagues birthday lunch so the five of us headed off full of antipaction and we were quickly let down. we all found it over priced our food veg came cold and when we complained the waitress didn’t react too kindly to us. we will not return and we felt it won’t be long before people begin to notice its been carried on its previous name. its time to shape up and give your customers better service and value
Posted 15 May 2008 at 10:26 pm ¶To me there is nothing worse than eating in an empty restaurant- this is something that would never happen in the Unicorn- the place is constantly buzzing and the atmosphere is electric for lunch or dinner! True I have always had to wait for a table, but with a glass of wine in hand it is all part of the experience... the food is delicious, the staff are brilliant and although pricey it is worth every penny, i can’t wait to go back...
