One to avoid!

Always eager to try something new, I spent a night in the Woodlands Hotel, Adare. As a frequent visitor to Adare, I normally stay in the Dunraven Arms which is excellent. I decided to try the Woodlands for a change as I had heard it offered good leisure facilities.
Having spent on unfortunate evening there, I can definitely say, I will not be back!
The hotel seemly hosts weddings most nights of the week. Good for business, but not great if you’re a weary business traveller wanting a relaxing evening.
The hotel lacks charm on every level. Upon checking in, I headed to the bar to meet some colleagues. The bar was drearily decorated, not a place to spend a relaxing night drinking. One of my colleagues arrived to join us. She was delayed because she had been given the keys to a room which was already occupied. We quickly deduced she had been given the keys and had entered my room based upon her description of the belongings the room!
After a mediocre dinner in the restaurant, I headed to bed, only to find my bed had been slept in previously and the sheets unchanged!!
The staff were helpful when I asked to change rooms. They accommodated my request very quickly.
All in all, not a place to go if you are looking for a relaxing place to stay, particularly if you are travelling for business. Avoid if at all possible!
