Subtle rhythms, great tunes.

Dublin band Director, I half heard these guys on the radio, I think it must have been NewsTalk, but something must have stuck, cos when I saw them being promoted on the forestore shelves of HMV, I bought the album, We thrive on big cities.
I liked it on first listening, which can be a bad sign - is it too easy, will it become bland? But Michael Moloney’s tunes are backed by subtle rhythms and syncopations on Eoin Aherne’s guitar.
Not the next U2 (the boy on the album cover invites the comparison), but an impressive debut.
