Review of Irish Ferries’ Easy Guide to French Wine

Excellent, simple and easy guide to wines from France

For those of us who love wine but don’t know a whole lot about wine and French wine in particular, Irish Ferries have an excellent guide to French wine on their website.  The guide provides details on wine classifications, the various wine regions, vintages and frequently asked questions in a clear, easy to read but very  informative way.

If you love your wine, would like to know a little more about it but really don’t want to have trawl the internet this is a fantastic starting point.

Review of Jean de Cascastel Les Trois Caves Vin de Table Francais - 10 litre box

Superb value, eminently drinkable table wine procured on a booze cruise to France

A light, dry, very easy to drink red table wine which at €21.00 approx for a 10-litre box is superb value. This wine does exactly what it says on the tin and the 10-litre box is perfect for entertaining at parties, barbecues etc.

Out of interest I did some research for this review and the wine is produced by a smaller wine grower who is one of the ”The Maîtres Vignerons du Paradis” (Master Wine Growers of Paradise ) -  a group of wine growers from 3 villages (Cascastel, Fraisse et St Jean de Barrou) situated in the upper Fitou region, part of the larger Languedoc-Roussillon region.
