Review of Flexa Children’s Furniture

Cool, functional, comfortable, flexible kids’ beds.

Rated as 4/5 on Jan 16 2007 by Catherine O’Neill

Bit by bit, our house is being taken over by FLEXA beds. As each child graduates from cot, a new one is purchased.

Oscar has the bunkbed version. The next 2 have the single beds surrounded by wooden rails 3/4s of the way around, to avoid any accidental falling out during the night. Fionn is about to be given his eviction orders from the cot, and so today, another order was sent for yet another bed.

This demonstrates how happy we are with these beds so far. They are great. Very solid, easy to assemble, great to look at and safe. The kids love them and are looking forward to when they get older to start adapting them to the older kids and teenager versions with their desks or hang out couches.

There is a huge selection of accessory furniture in the range: shelves, wardrobes, bookcases, cushions, curtains, slides, chairs, storage boxes. A fortune could be spent but its up to you how many or how few options to choose. The wood can be clear varnished or have a whitewashed look. We did splash out on the flexa mattress which is sprung and has a removable, washable zipped cover, and which I would definitely recommend.

Our local supplier is: www.robinwoodfurniture.com, located in Carrigtwohill in Cork but they deliver. It’s not cheap, approx €550 for bed and mattress, the last time we purchased, but worth the money to date.
